A four week Exhibition began on Febuary 8th 2009 at Worthing Central Library, West Sussex. It showed some of the 115,000 negatives that have been entrusted to the Library by Mike Hemsley,Wgphoto. A heritage Lottery grant of £45,000 has ensured that safe storage and restoration can continue to preserve this priceless archive.
This video courtesy BBC South Today typified the media interest in the move to place the entire Walter Gardiner Collection into the safe keeping of West sussex County Library Services.
